We contacted Ken Hogan in March 2008 about constructing an addition to our small ranch-style home, as we wanted to add two bedrooms and another bathroom. We had some ideas as to how we wanted the addition to look, but we were not sure about the logistics. Ken came to meet with us and listened to our ideas, explained to us what could and could not be done due to zoning codes, then had plans drawn up. We liked the plans and entered into a contract for the construction.
From our first contact with Ken throughout the completion of the project, we were treated in a very courteous, professional manner not only by Ken but by every person who he arranged to work on the project. It can be difficult to live in a house during construction, but Ken and his crew made as little inconvenience for us as possible. They were very pleasant and polite, and did not leave for the day without making sure there was no mess.
As far as the addition which was built, we are very pleased with the outcome. The end result was what we expected and more. We definitely will hire Ken Hogan Construction for any future building/construction needs.

I am pleased to write a letter of recommendation for Ken Hogan. In the spring of 2008 my wife Debbie and I asked Ken for a quote to oversee the construction of a Three Season Room we planned for years. We were familiar with Ken’s work as our niece purchased a nice home Ken built in town. Living in Oxford, CT we were familiar with other local construction projects Ken has worked on.
After several meetings, at our home discussing the project, it became clear Ken was organized and professional. He had a positive “can do” attitude and presented a detailed proposal. He seemed to be as interested in the project details as we were. We were satisfied with his proposal planning and pricing. We both understood what tasks we agreed to and how much they were going to cost.
Once we started there was no gap in the project, footings were installed, framing materials delivered etc. Ken and the crew worked to our agreed schedule. His dedicated crew came to work on time every day with enthusiasm and paid attention to detail. Their concerns reflected Ken and his wife Brenda’s - the job must be completed to our satisfaction and on schedule. All of the “subcontractors” Ken recommended (roofing, tile, electrical, masonry etc) were talented people and a pleasure to deal with.
In most building construction there are issues. We had a few material issues; bad tile, scratched windows delivered from the vendor etc. In every case Ken took full responsibility to resolve the problem and correct it as quickly as possible. Regardless of who may have been at fault he took care of the problem. I can’t emphasis this enough; he was willing to do whatever it took to make us happy.
He and the crew had an enthusiastic and adaptive attitude which didn’t waiver throughout the project. The quality of all final workmanship was excellent. I appreciate the time and thought put into all aspects of the job. My wife Debbie and I had a good time during the project and we enjoy and are proud of the room now. We would highly recommend Ken Hogan for any of your building needs.

We just wanted to thank you and your crew for the great job you did remodeling our kitchen. This was a big job that went beyond a normal kitchen renovation and included moving our back door, installing wood floors and cutouts to the family room. It was great to have one person to handle the entire job and coordinate with all the suppliers and sub-contractors.
We would recommend you and your company to anyone looking to do a similar renovation. Your crews that worked in the house did an excellent job of keeping things clean throughout the project. You were very responsive to any questions we had and accommodating some of the changes we made as the project progressed. Another big plus for us was we never had worry about being home when any work was being done. This was important to us since we both work during the week. We were so comfortable with you and your crew, we had no concerns leaving our house open to you when you needed to get in.

Honest, Reliable, Professional and Efficient. These were the characteristics we were looking for in a contractor. We found all of these when we met Ken Hogan.
We were initially apprehensive about putting an addition on our home. It can be difficult finding a reputable builder who is honest and is truly concerned about meeting the customer's needs. Our concerns were alleviated following our first meeting with Ken. He was knowledgeable and professional, but he was also very personable, and we immediately felt comfortable talking with him. He listened to our ideas and provided us with useful suggestions and advice. He was patient and spent a great deal of time helping us plan the addition. Ken was always available to speak with us whenever we had any questions and he quickly resolved the few problems that arose.
We were provided with a time-line for the job and the addition was completed by the specified date, a rarity with any construction project! Ken assured us that his crew would be neat and that the disruption to our daily lives would be minimal. We found the entire crew to be courteous and conscientious. They arrived on time, did quality work and made every effort to keep the work area a clean as possible.
